Kate Raworth – From Crisis to Thriving: Can Humanity Live in the Doughnut?

02.11.2021 @ 18:30 - 20:00

On November 2, 18:30-19:30 GMT, we will hosting Professor Kate Raworth from Oxford University and the Amsterdam University of Applied Science.

Although Professor Raworth will be joining us virtually, all are welcome to attend the talk in 32 Lincoln’s Inn Fields L.104. After the talk, we would be having plentiful snacks and refreshments, so feel free to stay behind and chat with likeminded students.

Register for the session here: https://forms.gle/YtbVGipoN8VWKjFp9.

Professor Raworth will be presenting her doughnut economics theory, which envisions a world that satisfies human needs within the means of the living planet. Achieving this calls for profound transformations in economists’ mindsets and economic structures, and our speaker will discuss some of the core concepts associated with this theory, how they might be realised in practice, and what the principal challenges and opportunities are.

Sen Club aims to provide an engaging and interactive platform for students to have a taste of the rich field of academia and research. Please, note that opinions expressed are not the opinions of the LSE, nor of the LSE Department of Economics.
