Muhammad Meki: Financial inclusion, Microfinance, and Economic Development

Keen to learn more about microfinance and its role in development economics? Does a microfinance focus on the Islamic world and fieldwork in Pakistan and Bangladesh interest you? Attend Sen Club this Tuesday to hear from Professor Muhammad Meki visitng from the University of Oxford! This week we’ll be co-hosting with the LSESU Financial Inclusion Society.

Prof Meki is the Islamic Finance lecturer at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies who will be coming to London on Tuesday evening for Sen Club. He will broadly explore financial inclusion and economic development while highlighting his fieldwork in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Kenya. This is your chance to learn about an upcoming and increasingly-evolved domain in Economics that may not be explored in your lectures, hearing first-hand from the Oxford professor on his work and expertise. Everyone is invited on Tuesday 18 October from 6.45–7.45PM in MAR2.04. Feel free to come by earlier for free pizza, snacks and drinks on us. The structure of our Sen Club sessions are such that Prof Meki will present for the first part of the session, followed by a chance for you to ask him questions in the Q&A. After that, feel free to stay back from 7.45–8PM just to chill and chat.
