Competition details:
On behalf of the LSESU Economics Society and LSE Department of Economics, welcome to our 2025 Undergraduate Policy Competition! This year, we will be discussing the economic pressures of ageing populations in developing and developed countries.

Entrants can only submit one essay. Please ensure all contact details are correct as they will be used to disseminate further details regarding the competition. Feel free to email us at [email protected] for further clarification.
**Finalists will be announced by Sunday, 12th October, and will need to submit their slides for their final presentation by 23:59 GMT, 2 November 2025.
Entry requirements:
The policy competition is only open to current undergraduates. Entrants can be from any university globally.

Entry requirements:
We accept submissions from students globally as long as you fit into one of these categories:
- Have just completed your penultimate year of secondary/high school (Year 12 in the UK system)
- Have just completed your final year of secondary/high school (Year 13 in the UK system)
- Will be entering university in the coming 2025/26 academic year (e.g., those taking gap years / after military service)
*Please note: Entrants can only submit one response to one of the 5 questions. Plagiarism and AI-generated content are strictly forbidden and adequate referencing is vital. All essays will be screened and any found to be in breach of these requirements will be immediately disqualified. Late submissions will not be accepted.
